We are delighted to introduce FRIDAY FINKERS, a new addition to the film programme at Linden Hall Studio. Taking place on Friday afternoons, following our monthly Thursday art film screenings, these films are dedicated to outstanding documentary cinema across a wide range of subjects.

While our Thursday film programme remains focused on art, artists and creative practice, FRIDAY FINKERS broadens the lens to explore the wider world. Through carefully selected documentaries, audiences will encounter thought-provoking perspectives on history, culture, science, politics, society, nature and remarkable human stories. Designed to inform, challenge and inspire, these screenings offer an opportunity to engage with ideas and issues that encourage reflection, discussion and a deeper understanding of the world around us.

MAN ON WIRE is the perfect documentary to begin the programme. Telling the extraordinary true story of Philippe Petit's daring high-wire walk between New York's Twin Towers in 1974, the film is at once a gripping heist story, a portrait of artistic ambition and a meditation on the pursuit of seemingly impossible dreams. Entertaining, inspiring and deeply thought-provoking, it exemplifies the kind of documentary cinema that Friday Finkers aims to celebrate - films that reveal remarkable stories while encouraging us to see the world from a fresh perspective.

After nearly an hour dancing on the wire, he was arrested, taken for psychological evaluation, then brought to jail and finally released.
