As the gallery marks its VIII Film Festival, FILM IN FOCUS brings together a curated season of five landmark films celebrating cinema as a visual art form; the perfect showcase for our new 4K laser cinema projector and expanded dedicated cinema screen. Each film has been newly restored in 4K UHD, offering audiences the chance to experience these masterpieces with exceptional clarity, depth, contrast and colour precision.

 

FILM IN FOCUS explores how filmmakers use framing, composition, colour, light and movement to create meaning and emotion on screen. Spanning different eras and styles, the programme has been carefully selected to highlight the extraordinary visual language of cinema and the distinctive artistry of its directors.

 

Celebrating the art of filmmaking through FILM IN FOCUS, brings together film appreciation, thoughtful insight, and shared discussion for audiences across South East, Kent. Ideal for those seeking distinctive cultural and cinematic experiences, accompanied by guest insights and presented within the distinctive surroundings of the gallery.

IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE (2000)
