Linden Hall Studio: A Year in Review 2025

As 2025 has come to an end, we reflect with pride and gratitude on a year of creativity, collaboration, and community at Linden Hall Studio. It has been a remarkable twelve months, filled with exhibitions, workshops, film events, and new initiatives that have enriched our gallery and the wider arts community.

Two Studios Opens on Deal High Street

One of our biggest milestones this year was the opening of Two Studios on Deal High Street, a unique space combining the gallery, glass shop, and a carefully curated selection of art, pottery, jewellery, and now soy natural candles. We are incredibly proud of the welcoming and inspiring environment we have created and look forward to welcoming many more visitors and collectors in the year ahead.

Exhibitions and Artists

In 2025, Linden Hall Studio hosted nine exhibitions, showcasing a rich diversity of work from both established and emerging artists. Highlights included pieces by Arthur Neal, Graham Clarke, and Daisy Cook, alongside the captivating pottery of William Plumptree and Olivia Horley. We were also proud to feature members of The London Group, as well as exhibitions exploring the theme of coastline, reflecting our ongoing interest in contemporary, conceptual, and site-inspired art.

Cinema at the Studio

Film remained at the heart of our programming, with twenty-five screenings spanning from Young Picasso to explorations of Caravaggio and Mary Cassatt. Our aim has been to offer audiences compelling cinematic experiences while introducing them to new artists, ideas, and perspectives.

Film Courses with John Wischmeyer

For those wishing to delve deeper, we ran two film courses with the brilliant John Wischmeyer, exploring British cinema and Neo-Realism. These sessions gave participants the opportunity to analyze, discuss, and connect more profoundly with the films, fostering a deeper understanding of cinematic techniques, storytelling, and historical context.

Workshops and Creative Engagement

Our workshop programme continued to flourish in 2025. Claire Sparkes led three highly engaging sessions, exploring gestural charcoal and watercolour, mixed media, and a festive drawing session using only biro. Each session provided participants with the freedom to experiment, take creative risks, and develop their practice in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Special Event: Graham Fink Eye Draw

In November, we were thrilled to welcome internationally recognised artist Graham Fink for a one-day Eye Draw collaboration, which drew a huge crowd. Fink’s innovative practice blurs the boundaries between art, technology, and human perception, using a specialist eye-tracking system developed with Swedish firm Tobii Technology. This system allows his gaze to “draw” directly onto a digital canvas, creating intricate and expressive portraits that are a direct trace of seeing itself. Visitors experienced this unique fusion of observation, technology, and artistry firsthand, with the option to purchase digital portraits or physical prints. Fink describes the process as “the purest form of observation,” where there are no mistakes—only the trace of vision.

Thank You for a Fantastic 2025!

We are so grateful to all the artists, visitors, and friends who made this year vibrant and inspiring. From exhibitions and films to workshops and special events, Linden Hall Studio continues to be a place where creativity and community flourish. Here’s to an even more exciting 2026!
