Lisa Traxler Awarded the Daler-Rowney Prize

We are delighted to announce Lisa Traxler as the recipient of the Daler-Rowney Prize as part of the Winter Group Show 2025/26 at Linden Hall Studio.

Time Traveller Unlocked

Hand-painted acrylic on laser-cut birch ply flatpack sculpture

21 x 38 x 32cm

From Daler-Rowney:

"This sculpture reaches outward, awkward and mechanically sprawling, but seems to also gather into itself a mix of fascinating elements, hoovered up in its explorations. I immediately see graffiti-influenced structure, but also 20th century assemblage elements. Clean lines, cut precisely with a laser, signal present day technology (and the 'flatpack' of its brilliant 'open to interpretation' statement), but the chaotic angles disorient us as if we are from another time and place, required to suddenly make sense of a jumble of discordant information. The colours read both earthly and industrial, ripped from landscapes and urban enviroments.

It is both unsettling and inviting.

The Daler-Rowney Prize awards an exclusive factory tour, behind-the-scenes access, and a hands-on creative workshop led by a partner artist.

Congratulations to Lisa, and thank you to all the artists who make the Winter Group Show such a rich and compelling annual exhibition.
