BRITISH SIXTIES CINEMA | FILM COURSE
Fridays 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th June
Course Sessions: 11am – 12:30pm
A new four-part film course at Linden Hall Studio in the heart of Deal.
Taught by John Wischmeyer, Cinema Lecturer at City Lit.
John Wischmeyer returns to LHS for a new four-part course exploring the remarkable creativity and cultural transformation of the 1960s through cinema.
During this decade British filmmaking underwent a profound shift. Social attitudes were changing rapidly, and a new generation of directors moved away from traditional studio productions towards films that reflected modern life with greater realism, experimentation and visual energy. The emergence of the British New Wave, alongside the vibrant atmosphere of Swinging London, produced some of the most influential and memorable films of the period.
